Experience versus Wisdom You versus Me

People have long wanting to get wisdom from their life. They learn from University, they learn from religion, they learn from internet and they learn from any way they can. In the end, not everyone is going to attain to real wisdom. I never discuss this with my friends nor my relatives. Everyone seems to be avoiding this topic to prevent anything bad from happening. Why would i say that debate or quarrel might happen if you bring this topic forward in a discussion? Different people have different mindset. They perceive and define wisdom by using their experience and the education they received since they were born. They learn slowly by taking the experience from their surrounding regardless the reliability of the source. Debate will start to occur when everyone thinks that their own opinion is the correct one.

"Do not believe on your own views until you achieve the level of Arhan."

"Why Arhan's view can be trusted? Arhan doesn't have attachment and thus he possesses the real wisdom. How about us? If we can't trust ourselves, what should we do when we meet some problems and how do we live a life CORRECTLY?" A student asked.

"Since you can't trust your own views, just rely on the sages' teaching. Sages have achieve wisdom; they can guide you to the correct way."

"But how do we know that they are correct? What if they are wrong? What if MY view is the best view?"

"When you are saying "my" view, I know that your view can't be trusted. A true Sage doesn't have his OWN view. When you say MY view, that is base on what you have been through. A person with wisdom doesn't use his own view. He uses the wisdom from the "true self". Everyone's "trueself" is the same. Therefore there is no YOU and ME. Sages use the REAL wisdom."

"YOU are autocratic."

"I am." master said.

"huh??" Astonished by what he replied.

"Aren't YOU?"

"Er....... Thank you master. Now I understand."
